About Alex Hawke

 Alex is the Federal Member for Mitchell, a community centred on the vibrant Hills District in North West Sydney, home to the Norwest Business Park. He has served in this role since 2007.

Alex holds a Masters of Government and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sydney University.

Alex is a former adviser to former Treasury Ministers Helen Coonan and Ross Cameron.

Prior to entering Parliament Alex served as an Army Reserve Officer in the Royal Australian Armoured Corps.

In Parliament Alex has also served as Chair of the House Standing Committee on the Environment, Chair of the Joint House Standing Committee on Electoral Matters and the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade.

Alex has a keen interest in public policy debates and is a strong advocate for ongoing economic reform, especially micro economic reform.

Alex is married to Amelia and, lives in the Hills District with their son Jack.
